Sailing islands hopping around Greece PART 2

Back to the boat there was not much to say at that time, while Thanassis was working very hard with keeping the boat in place-below you can see him in action…

We spent some time doing nothing but diving swimming and relaxing. The boat had a nice hydraulic platform which is fantastic for the living onboard. The size of the Oceanis 41 looks like a bigger boat allowing everybody to move freely and easily inside.

After quite some time under the sun we got bit of a sunburn and decided to dive once more and then start heading to Merichas port which was the closest port near Kolona bay. It is only a 5 minute distance to cover on engine.

Remember how it all started…. island hopping in greece ….

Merichas is the main port of Kythnos (where all the ferries approach), (you have a second option for mooring in Loutra which is on the other side of the island in the south side – more packed though with more difficult mooring).

We spent some time finding a slot available, the place seemed quite packed. We were lucky enough and a rib just left the port and we somehow fitted approaching the dock. We threw 2 mooring lines in the back and we were ready to spend the night in Kythnos. I was the one that went to the port police and asked for a card to use in the electic pylars so we could connect to the shore power and recharge our batteries. The port police is the first kiosk on the left side as you look the dock from the sea. We were finally connected and I was back to the boat to have a normal shower and prepare myself for our evening tour in Kythnos.

We had dinner onboard prepared by the ladies while the sun was already set. After dinner we initially went for a walk in Mericha and decided to have an ice cream in one of the little stores located in the other side of the bay.

Here is Ioanna and Lila in the port of Mericha during our discussion of going to the ‘chora’ or not. Finally four of us decided to have a drive in the main city while the remaining two would stay onboard.

Kythnos city turned out to be very beautiful and colorful. I was glad that I finally decided to have a look since the ‘chora’ gave me another glance and perspective (more beautiful I mean) so I was quite surprised with the nightlife and island vibe.

Next morning we woke up, the weather was very calm so we decided to leave so we could have breakfast while sailing to our next island which would be Serifos. I went in a local traditional bakery, bought some hot fresh cheesepies (they had just taken them out of the oven) along with coffee for everyone went back to our boat and we left the port heading to Serifos.

Somewhere along the way and while we were between Kythnos I heard Costas saying:

“The depth according to the plotter is 235 meters” he whispered. And there it was..

Engine stopped, yacht stopped and 3 of us dived without second thought..

And for those of you that have any doubts..

We approached Serifos on the east side and we were looking for a place to anchor and relax.

In Greece the story is as follows, 1^st you see a bay that you like, for us it was the one below..

The closest neighbors were at that distance!

We released the anchor and OUR MAN IN CHARGE OF THE MOORING LINES AKA ‘THANASSIS” had some work to do

Under the directions of the eye of our Captain we were sure for one thing: JOB DONE

Boat moored, crystal clear waters of Serifos, Stand up paddle into the water. We were on vacation!

Shortly we started exploring the area around our boat, taking advantage of the temperature of the sea. The water was one of the most clear I had seen in my life check below:

New generation of Greek entrepreneurs

Οι ξένοι επενδύτες χρειάζονται σταθερό περιβάλλον, να εφαρμόζονται τα μέτρα που έχουν ληφθεί και να αλλάξει το γραφειοκρατικό σύστημα, είπε στην Πρώτη Γραμμή της τηλεόρασης του ΣΚΑΪ, ο Άρης Συγγρός, πρόεδρος του Invest in Greece. 
Όπως είπε όλα αυτά τα προσφέρει το σχέδιο νόμου του υπουργείου Ανάπτυξης, που θα κατατεθεί σήμερα. 

Εκτίμησε ότι πλέον υπάρχουν χαραμάδες φωτός στις επενδύσεις, τονίζοντας ότι το περιβάλλον σήμερα δεν είναι το ίδιο με αυτό που ήταν πριν από μερικούς μήνες. Ωστόσο, υπογράμμισε ότι δεν πρέπει να επαναπαυόμαστε, αλλά αντίθετα να εντείνουμε τις προσπάθειες. 

Ο κ. Συγγρός εξήγησε ότι μπήκαν σε προτεραιότητα οι οδικοί άξονες γιατί είναι συνυφασμένοι με χιλιάδες θέσεις, ενώ τόνισε ότι πρέπει να μπουν σε προτεραιότητα και τα ενεργειακά, γιατί θα ενισχύσουν και την γεωστρατηγική σημασία της χώρας. 

Τέλος, γνωστοποίησε ότι στα μέσα Μαρτίου θα υπάρχει αποστολή στην Κίνα για συζητήσεις.

Γ. Γραμματίδης: Εφικτή υπό προϋποθέσεις η ενίσχυση της επιχειρηματικότητας 

Η ανάπτυξη και η ενίσχυση της επιχειρηματικότητας είναι εφικτή υπό κάποιες προϋποθέσεις, δήλωσε στο ΣΚΑΪ 100,3, ο Γιάννος Γραμματίδης, πρόεδρος του ελληνοαμερικανικού επιμελητηρίου. 

Όπως είπε δεν είναι δυνατόν το κράτος να συνεχίζει την επιθετική στάση κατά της επιχειρηματικότητας, αναφέροντας ως παράδειγμα την αύξηση του ΦΠΑ στα αναψυκτικά από το 13% στο 23%. 

Σημείωσε ακόμα πως δεν είναι δυνατόν την ώρα που θέλουμε να προσελκύσουμε επενδύσεις να κλείνουν στην Ελλάδα, εργοστάσια, όπως της Coca Cola, που είναι αναγνωρίσιμη διεθνώς. 

Ζήτησε να παραμείνουν στον χαμηλό συντελεστή τα τρόφιμα και στο 5% τα τουριστικά πακέτα, που είναι η βαριά βιομηχανία της χώρας. 

Πρόσθεσε πως η Ελλάδα είναι μια χώρα απαγορευτική για επενδύσεις και μάλιστα σε ένα διεθνές ανταγωνιστικό περιβάλλον.

Eπτά νέοι φάκελοι από την Invest In Greece

Μέσα στις επόμενες μέρες αναμένεται να συνεδριάσει η Διυπουργική Επιτροπή Αποκρατικοποιήσεων, σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, και ήδη από το Invest In Greece έχουν ετοιμαστεί επτά φάκελοι προς έγκριση.

    Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, τα αιτήματα που έχουν κατατεθεί και θα συζητηθούν στην Επιτροπή είναι μια σύνθετη τουριστική επένδυση με την ονομασία "Pravita Eco-Leisure Luxury Resort" στη Χαλκιδική από την κοινοπραξία: "ΠΡΑΒΙΤΑ- ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΙΚΑ ΓΚΟΛΦ- ΟΙΚΟΛΟΓΙΚΗ ΕΝΕΡΓΕΙΑΚΗ ΚΑΤΑΣΚΕΥΑΣΤΙΚΗ".

    Μία επένδυση στον μεταλλευτικό κλάδο και συγκεκριμένα, έργο που αποσκοπεί στην αξιοποίηση κοιτάσματος χρυσού εντός μεταλλευτικών παραχωρήσεων στο νομό Έβρου. Έχει καταβληθεί αίτημα από την εταιρεία "Χρυσωρυχεία Θράκης ΑΜΒΕ" για την υπαγωγή στον Νόμο 3894/10 στην Invest in Greece.

    Επίσης έχει καταβληθεί αίτημα για Αιολικό Σύστημα Παραγωγής Ηλεκτρικής Ενέργειας (ΑΣΠΗΕ) Κρήτης, με διασύνδεση στο Εθνικό Διασυνδεδεμένο Σύστημα Ενέργειας μέσω υποβρυχίου καλωδίου (ΑΣΠΕ Αιτωλοακαρνανίας- Αντλησοταμιευτικά συστήματα παραγωγής ενέργειαςΤΕΡΝΑ ΕΝΕΡΓΕΙΑΚΗ ΑΒΕΤΕ) και ανάπτυξη συστοιχιών αιολικών πάρκων στην Κρήτη και διασύνδεση με το ηπειρωτικό σύστημα από την ELICA GROUP.

    Τέλος, υπάρχει αίτημα της εταιρείας SPES SOLARIS- SOLAR CONCEPT AE για την επαύξηση ισχύος του ήδη υπαχθέντος επενδυτικού σχεδίου της στις διατάξεις του Ν.3894/2010, καθώς και της SOLAR POWER PLANT LASSITHI ΕΠE για την κατασκευή ηλιοθερμικού σταθμού ισχύος 70 MW στη θέση Φουρνιά ΔΕ Ίτανου, Δ. Σητείας, Ν. Λασιθίου.

Public Gas Corporation SA (DEPA)

DEPA is the incumbent natural gas importer and distributor. It sources gas from a number of suppliers through long-term supply contracts and provides approximately 90% of the gas consumed in the country.

DEPA holds 100% of DESFA, which holds, operates and develops the National Natural Gas Transmission System. DEPA also holds 51% in the Gas Distribution Companies of Attica, Thessaloniki and Thessalia, which supply retail clients in their respective regions.

The HR holds 65% of DEPA, with the remaining being held by Hellenic Petroleum SA. The HR has appointed UBS, Rothschild and Alpha Bank as financial advisors as well as Koutalides Law Firm and Clifford Chance as legal advisors to assist with the process of privatizing the company.

Hellenic Post (ELTA)

Hellenic Post (ELTA) is the leading postal service supplier in the Greek market having assumed since 1998 a significant role in the social and business environment of the country.

Hellenic Post provides postal services to all parts of Greece and is a member of the Universal Postal Union. Services provided include, letter post, parcel service, a nationwide next-day delivery service, bills’ payment services, express mail and door to door service. The Hellenic Republic holds 90% of the share capital while the rest 10% is owned by the Hellenic Post Bank (TT).

The HR has appointed Lazard Freres and Pricewaterhouse Coopers Business solutions to act as financial advisors for the privatisation.

Hellenic Petroleum SA (HELPE)

HELPE is the leading oil refiner and distributor in Greece and a significant player in Southeast Europe.It operates three refineries in southern and northern Greece which cover approximately 70% of the country’s refining capacity and a refinery in FYROM.

Apart from ex-refinery sales to retail companies HELPE is also active in fuel retail in Greece where it holds a c28% market share and abroad in Cyprus, FYROM, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania. Additionally HELPE holds stakes in the incumbent natural gas distributor and a joint venture in power generation and operates Greece’s sole petrochemicals plant.

The HR holds 35.5% of HELPE, which is listed in the Athens Stock Exchange and has appointed UBS and Nomura to assist in the divestment of its stake.
